Cole's Christening
March 3, 2012

Made for a friend's first Grandchild's christening. It's a seven inch, vanilla cake with lemon filling, buttercream and fondant covering. The decorations and characters are made from fondant and gumpaste. There were also 50 cupcakes to go along with the cake. My biggest challenge -- putting human like faces on a fish.

For Valentines

Something a little less traditional: vanilla cake with lemon filling. The icing and piped items are from buttercream, the ribbon and bow are fondant and the roses are gum paste. This 6 inch heart gave me the opportunity to practice some piping. (not my original design.)

10 years

This cake was made to celebrate 10 years of running my creative doll artists club. The cake has 3 layers (with chocolate chips) and each is a separate colour to match the 3 coloures used. (not my original design)

D&R 40th Anniversary

Another large cake, and something different, for a steel fabricating company. Several techniques and edible medias were used. It was great to see it come to life when the sparklers were lit. They were a great representation of welding sparks.

My first offically ordered and paid for cake. It was to send best wishes to 3 employees who were going to Sony locations in Japan and California. It used fondant and gum paste for the decorations. My second venture into using fondant, and I even did a little painting.

My very first "fancy" cake. I discoverd candy melts, which I used for the roses and leaves.
