Mark and Amanda
April 29, 2017

My nephew, Mark asked me if I'd be willing to make their wedding cake. Kelly and I said "yes". Amanda liked the look of a "naked" cake but Mark wanted it a little more "covered" so the tiers had chocolate ganache poured over them to create a "semi-naked" cake. The bottom tier (10 inch round) is chocolate cake with chocolate filling. The middle tier (8 inch round) is carrot cake with cream cheese filling. The top tier (6 inch round) is banana cake with chocolate truffle filling. The couple supplied us with fresh flowers, to match the others at the wedding, and Kelly and I made macaroons for the first time to use as decorations. (macaroons are the brides favourite, and who knew they would work so nicely) This was the first time for me making a "naked" cake and using fresh flowers.

I think Kelly and I make a great team!

My second wedding cake. This time, made for my Niece Melissa. Each tier of the cake is a different flavour and they're covered in buttercream icing and gum paste flowers. Thanks to Kelly, Daniellia and Judy for their help.

My very first wedding cake, made for my Niece. This was the first time using gum paste for flowers, and each one was hand sculpted and painted. A more traditional style cake with buttercream.
